Fanatec McLaren GT3 Wheel

Hi,

This is my first post as a new Sim Racer moving from a G29 setup to a Fantec CSL PS4 Wheelbase and Sim Lab GT1 Evo rig. (Awaiting delivery).

I want to buy my first decent rim and I am deciding against:-

1. Clubsport Formula Carbon @ 299 Euro

2. CSL Elite McLaren GT3 @ 229 Euro

Question I have is does the McLaren GT3 come with the aluminium QR attachment as part of the pack (for 229) as reading the description seems to insinuate that it does?

This may be the deciding factor when choosing my first stater rim.

Hello,

I think Fanatec have discontinued the plastic QR so I', 99% sure you get the aluminum QR by default now. There's a Fanatec community manager that lurks around here and is pretty good at answering questions and picking up support queries, I'm sure he will confirm.

Just to close down this thread - I purchased the Formula Carbon Wheel instead of the McLaren. It seems like a better build quality from what I have read etc.

It is a better build quality, for sure. The Formula rim is based on the Clubsport range of rims whereas the McLaren GT3 rim is based a tier lower (in price and build quality) in the CSL range.

I have both and use my GT3 rim extensively seeing as I race a fair bit of GT cars. It's nice to have both though.
