Right, up until now i've kept all the following between me and Fanatec, but after the last week i have to let others know incase they're considering purchasing this model so they're informed of what might be instore...
I bought my Fanatec CSL PS4 wheel back in October last year to replace my old T300 and have been more then happy with the improvement it gave. Fast forward to mid February and the right side paddle shifter lost it's "snap" when shifting, so contacted customer services and they initiated a rma where i sent the faulty rim back and about 2 weeks later received another to replace it.
Ok, now in late June the LEFT shifter suffered the same fate, so again i contacted CS and this time they asked if i'd be ok with them sending the PCB and replacing it myself with no change to my guarantee.
Being handy with a screwdriver i agreed to this and the PCB was duly sent and arrived a week later.
Now,the fun starts..
Didn't manage to get to fitting it around till a few weeks after, but sat down and dismantled my wheel, opened the DHL package and bam! The thumb toggle had been broken off the PCB in transit rendering it useless.
So, onto the web i went and informed Fanatec what had happened, they apologised (**** happens i said) and told me the next one would be shipped with the plastic backing to better protect it in transit, this was on the 4th August.
This arrived on the 10th and the 1st thing i checked was the toggle (ok) and the snapdomes.
Well, you can see and here the result of that!
Now, to come direct from the factory totally broken like that ticked me off to say the least!!!
Guess where i went next....yep, off to Fanatec webchat! Showed them that video and they suggested i have the wheel RMA'd to their UK service center to be repaired there, which was collected on the 14th and back here on the 22nd.
This is where the salt got poured into the wound, the following vid was recorded yesterday as i was online with livechat.
The snap was already much weaker when testing after unpacking, but a few days play and that was the result, just 5 days after coming back from the service center...*repaired*!
I've just been to the post office to have my wheel shipped back again, this time to Germany to be replaced with a new one, did ask them to send the replacement 1st so i wouldn't be wheel-less but even though with all the problems i've had they wouldn't budge and send it till they had mine back there.
So, here i am, staring at my rimless base, not being able to stream on my Twitch channel (difficult to build followers when your wheel keeps going **** up) some F1 2018 before ACC arrives in a couple of weeks, wondering if THIS time next week i'll be able to enjoy the damm thing for lengthy period of time....but right now, i have my doubts.
Prospective buyers, you have been warned. You may have/be having no problems with yours, but i had to get this story out as i wouldn't want anyone to go through this as well.
As a side note, the guys on livechat/support were pretty good and understanding, no problem with them at all as i know their hands are pretty much tied from the "higher ups".
P.S
I did get a lottery ticket tonight as my luck can't get worse!
