DiRT Rally FFB tweak (no void)

That empty 10 - 2 position is now filled with glorious surface texture. Enjoy! Thanks Msportdan for the pad/wheel switch.

29/4
- Made some small changes to suspension and lateral settings.
30/4
- Updated to catch some feedback from tarmac
- Removed some overlap on suspension setting, feels cleaner now
- Reduced SelfAligningTorque - counter steering had too much resistance
- Switched collision settings to wheel; seems to add some nice effects
- Switched FFBSkid to wheel (these still need tweaking)

Steering resistance:
If anyone prefers the original resistance, change line 4 to:

<FFBEffectSelfAligningTorque device="wheel" scale="1.0"/>

or adjust to preference.

My wheel and settings:
T500RS default with 540 rotation.
In game:
Vibration 100
Strength 90
Weight 50

Open '\Steam\SteamApps\common\DiRT Rally\forcefeedback\effectsetup.xml' and replace contents entirely with the below. Make a backup of the original!

I didn't want to oversaturate the feedback so only changed the L/R suspension from pad to wheel. I don't know how suitable those other effects are for wheel - haven't tried.
Thanks for keeping updating it, tried everything set to "wheel" and I think I like it better that way, more info through the wheel, landing from jump feels awesome.

With these FFB settings I found the following worked nicely with the T500:
450 degrees, 60/100/100/0/0
Vibration/force/weight: 30/60-70/0
Advanced: 0% deadzones, 100% saturation, 0 linearity

For the T300 I'd probably go up to 40/80/0 or perhaps 40/90/0, other stuff the same. I'll test mine later and see if I'm correct :)

See that's quite a difference in what other people have suggested in having everything on 100.

I was turning forces down on the T500. 30/60/0 is what I was using and I was considering 30/50/0
I also own a T300 and that feels much lighter, I went for 50/100/0 but I might turn up vibration a notch.

Note this is with the revised FFB. Using stock FFB everything is much lighter and you probably want even the T500 closer to max.

Has anyone experienced issues with Simvibe and this profile?
For whatever reason from time to time it's causing transducers go berserk and vibrate non stop.
Interesting that VCORP modded profile from Dirt 3 does not cause this issue and feels more effects rich. If anyone cares, try it out (attached).
Just remove txt extension.

I'm utterly confused, theres "FFB fixes" everywhere, and the values are different everytime, even though its posted by the same person..

And this thread also has different settings... Guess I'll just leave my file default lol

I'll try it, though I'm only using one transducer.

That's file of mine has been totally superceded by this one on this thread. I belive D has also done an update on this one today

in my very first file I enabled wheel on everything and it did make a difference.
...and you were right. I was trying to keep it simple while sorting out the straight line feel, but time to go HAM now :D

Did you play with FFBSkid at all? I'm trying to find where the effect comes into play. Think I can feel it a bit when spining up the wheels.
