Why is it so hard to make mods compatible with each other?

Thanks, but what GME does not tell you in those warnings is whether further alterations or overwrites are being done on those files when you activate the new mod, and whether that is going to screw up your existing mods because it will change settings they need. So you are totally flying blind and rolling the dice here (to mix metaphors).

Let's face it, compared to AC, the pCars mod system just blows. No wonder there are so few car mods for this title.

I've activated and deactivated my 25+ mods many many times. which you often have to do when a mod is updated, and is very east to do. The shared files are used because that is how the moders made their mod. Never had a problem yet. So I'm not sure what your problem is? Unlike Asetto Corsa. All the mods I have are top quality.

The principle is simple - no mod should be overwriting files that other mods or parts of the OEM game use. Easy peasy, no potential for any conflicts. Otherwise, when a new mod overwrites an old file, it may not preserve the changes another mod has already made in that file, crippling the old mod. Recipe for a mess.

And what if a file is necessary for two mods but you only want one of them?
If the file is strictly identical, you should not have any problem. Except if you change the file yourself, so in this case you can remove it from the second mod's archive before activating it.

how did you make this mod? im mainly interested in putting better tires on the radical rxc turbo, maybe give it more power too..
I think that is the kind of modification we don't want done. Because it allows cheating in the leader-boards. Where as the Tuned Mustang is recorded as a totally different car.
