Actually the 1050 ti is only about 20% faster than the 670. I think they want to say "the 670 is the minimum recommended gpu because it's old but has enough power and dx12" and "the 1050 ti is the minimum recommended gpu from modern generation".
For me it's nice that they give us two gpu's, old one and new one

So, does this mean I'll be able to run it at 1080p with an acceptable frame rate on my XMG gaming laptop? It runs Assetto Corsa and other pretty demanding sims fine BTW.
