Framedops during sunset CSP

Hi guys even the question its bit dated, i have the issue - during sunset the fps drops dramaticaly on many tracks in some places on the track. I am pretty "fresh" with CSP so its a new problem for me. Sorry i did not found any topic on this forum so far.
My system is clean and not that bad - ryzen 2700x and GeF 2070super.

Maybe someone still has tips ? Only solution for me is to disable extra.fx within the CSP. But unfortunately this hits the optics :/
Or its just that hardware-hungry and my PC is not good enough ??

ps: I have used diverse Versions 146, 152 and 162. I think with the newest the drops are not that huge. I should mention i do not use CM or SOL

EDIT: I tested a bit and p0ssibly solved the problem. Inside the extrafx.ini i have disabled TAA and taken SSAO instead of HBAO.

Billy quoted your post and then edited his post almost instantly, so the forum doesn't show it as having been edited (which is a bit faily in my view).
I think the quote was from an unrelated thread, so it was probably one of those accidental "hit quote button and then forget to reply" situations, maybe even from a different day :)
Edit: I've just modified the setting so that "Edited" will be displayed even for immediate edits

That's exactly what happened. And I have no idea why I had clicked to quote Please Stop This.

Anyway, while you're all here, I'll just take the opportunity to thank you for all the help.

I get the impression I'm getting lower fps sometimes during sunset and sunrise. I am not entirely sure, but seems to have been quite a few times now, and only recently - the last couple of weeks maybe.

I don't use Extra FX in CSP though. But your solution only applies to those using Extra FX, no?

Yeah unfortunately yes only extra.fx
And what helps me maybe do not help the others, because I think SOL is the key here. Sol is the most complex weather implementation and i think it’s much more „hungry“ than fe. natural weather which I am using along CSP.

So there is no Potential solution to those drops it’s all about personal setting and pc power

It can get pretty extreme on big tracks even with a powerful GPU.

On LA Canyons, with some weather I can lose more than 100 fps with a 2080Ti during sunset/sunrise.

I've tried a lot of things without finding a solution. No fancy stuff enabled on Extra FX, only "Analyse Depth", "TAA" and "SSAO".

I exposed the problem to Peter on Discord, for him it is related to the number of objects that can generate a shadow on this track.

3) get RTX 3090 :D
Ha
Good :) Yes, it has occurred to me that that may be helpful. But ... the bank account... ouch! And I believe it'd require a new motherboard and PSU, oh... and a new CPU. :(

Anyway, back to fps drops and Sol/CSP. In my case, I think I've only had this problem relatively recently. So I'm wondering if it could have something to do with a more recent CSP. Until a few weeks ago I was using CSP most recent recommended version (1.42??) then I switched to the most recent (1.6X??) . I'll try switching it back down to the recommended version and see if that helps.

I'm not using the latest Sol. And have a 1080ti with triples BTW.
