DiRT Rally 2.0 G27 BUTTONS

Have mapped my repair/reset vehicle to 2 buttons on my G27 wheel, i.e the two bottom red ones. When I crash or get a puncture and press the buttons they don't work. I know there is no problems with these as they work for other games.
By the way I play in VR Rift.
Any suggestions please
