G29/G920 racing wheel xbox one x

Got my early Xmas present, Xbox one X and wreckfest. As I grew up on PC, I am not any good with the controller. So, I got a Logitech G290 and a stand but it does not work with wreckfest. It will work fine on Forza 4. Do I have to register the wheel to the xbox? Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

Less than a week to Christmas and I'd love to know the answer also please!
Love this game on PC, want to purchase for nephew's Xbox/Logitech wheel. The kid loves Forza and would really have fun with Wreckfest.
