F1 2011 Game freezes when trying to drive out of the Garage

Made a fresh install today and applied patches 1.1 and 1.2 (had not applied 1.2 'til today) and started a new career...
Now i'm sitting in the garage in Australia setting up the car and getting ready for some laps to tune it properly. But everytime i tell my engineer that i want to drive out to the track it freezes.

My car drives for 2 or 3 meters on to the pit lane and then...nothing more.

Anyone got an idea!?

Just tried out using the "flying lap" and that works...but unfortunately that is not an option for me for R&D or Qualy sessions.
