F1 2010 Game freezes

I keep getting freezes during the game causing a complete computer lock-up.
It only ever happens on track - i haven't even got through a practice session yet!
Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas of a fix?

I'm on Windows 7 64, I7 cpu and GTX295 gpu.

Hi there, i know you have great specs, so im assuming you're game is maxed out 9 Graphics )

are you running DX11 in the game? if so just test the game out and put it onto DX9 for the time being and see how it goes.

If you're running in DX9 then try and lower your settings to medium, just experiment with the game, if nothing works from changing the Graphic settings then a re-install may be needed.

Im no expert but this is just some friendly advice

Thanks for the advice Scott. I set the graphics settings to 'automatic' and that seems to have done the trick!
I just came 5th from 14th on the grid in Bahrain
