Gloves

I notice a lot of people in videos are wearing gloves when they (sim) race and I was wondering if a decent pair (Sparco,OMP etc) would be a good investment.
I see the decent pairs are not cheap so was wondering what your thoughts are on them.

I see a lot of people proper karting or racing gloves. But I use some finger-less mountain biking gloves that have no padding on the palm area. Works great, they aren't bulky at all, and can still use touch screen button boxes.

I also use cheap biking gloves. I tend to sweat a lot on the hands and without them I would lose Grip on the wheel. The fingerless gloves give me a consistent feel on the wheel while not warming up my hands too much.

The only problem is that's all he wears..

Now on a serious note a set of gloves is something i have considered but i do tend to sweat more with them on.
i use head phones and always have a sweaty patch under them after a race or 2..
So i invested in a fan and found that was my best solution to sweat..and slippy hands..

I've got some ex Nelson Piquet Jnr Renault F1 gloves and love them! Before that I had some entry level Sparco race gloves and they did the job nice too. I find them useful to protect the wheel from wear and it helps keep me from getting blisters too. Never had a problem using them with the keyboard or buttons, so that shouldn't be an issue for you I wouldn't think.

Strange thing is, and this might sound a bit sad, but if I drive without gloves now it somehow feels a bit less realistic! I'd never be without a pair nowadays, very much recommended.

The "real thing" tends to have long sleeves and are quite expensive imo. For the occasional use i have a pair of basic MX gloves without paddings. Light and around 20€ Works great for me.

Fingerless leather gloves. Keeps the Fanatec alcantara from rubbing off onto your hands.

Real racing gloves are awkard for typing and pressing buttons. Yes, I've worn full firesuit, gloves, shoes, balaclava, & helmet while simracing, but it was only to get used to them before a real-world endurance race. This past fall I started regularly wearing the race shoes because of pain from a stress fracture.

Homedepot work gloves are all you need, there's lots of styles/colors to choose from, different sizes and finishes of material on the palms. I personally need full fingered gloves as the finger less just feel awkward to me. Dont waste 60$ on a set of karting or Sparco gloves, As other's have said, They wear and eventually need to be replaced.

The secret of Sparco Arrow is outside seam and silicon grip inserts, nothing else will be as comfortable and provide superb grip as these on suede or leather wrapped rims

Go to Sports Direct (if you have a store in your country) and buy 2 all weather golf gloves, obviously a left and a right. Cheap option and better than real racing gloves or bike gloves imo, I have tried all options and this is the best.
