AFAIK, the Luftwaffe's Iron Cross never appeared on any of the Silver Arrows. My friend Yates (who wrote a book about the Vanderbilt Cup races on Long Island in the Thirties) claimed that swastikas only appeared on the German cars at Roosevelt Raceway (modestly sized, on the headrest fairing). Or maybe I'm mis-remembering.
