I think Templates are only if you want to paint one.

I have been testing the later BES cars (links in the league discussion thread). They are better than the V 1.0. Is this race new or old BES?
Old set ups will need tweaking as they have different physics. But better. EG the 911 no longer needs absolute minimum slow bump dampers on the rear. The NIssan GTR has the exact same physics as the ISI GT1, just less power. So set ups work perfectly.

Sorry Theo, I'm not sure what the problem could be. At what point during the loading process is the issue occurring? However, for the sake of "safety", have you first uninstalled all previous versions of the BES cars - we are no longer using v1.0. It might also be worth clearing the shaders (<rF2_directory>\UserData\Log\Shaders) and CBash (<rF2_directory>\UserData\Log\CBash) directories. If, after doing this, you're still having issues then I would recommend a fresh game install.

I'm having the same stuff. While testing i noticed one of the ai cars not loading correctly just a yellow shape. I think it was one of the Aston Martin cars. Still have to do more testing to confirm it.

It always gives me that black something error and the car doesn't load correctly or crashes rF2.
