Gtr2 allmost 15 years old

Hello guys.

Do some people know about falcon 4.0
And the free 64 bit rebuild of a game from 1998.

They did rebuild it to 64 bit with a higher directx.

So are there some brilliant modders around here that would like to try that with gtr2?

If they can do it with a game from 1998 why not with a game from 2006

Dege (author of dgvoodoo plugin to make run old dx7/8 games) is working on dx9 to dx12 generic plugin (so not dedicated to GTR2) but it is still WIP (Bjarne could certainly give you more info about it).
Otherwise, if your pc is recent then you can use ReShade which can boost GTR2 graphics to what you have in codemasters games (I speak about HDR).

Well i mean not only update gtr2 on the graphic department but also using multi core and more then 4 gb.

Thats wat they did with falcon 4.0
That beeing said falcon bms is made by one of the true makers of falcon 4.0(in his free time)

But if its possible with a game from the 90's why not with gtr2. Than we can really crank it up. possible competition for the new planned gtr3.

Question 2 i know how edit hdc file to have more pitstops during a race but also how to make it so that not all cars go pit in the same lap or 2.

But never had any luck with changing the
Amount of time to compleet a pitstop.

Instead of 1 minute to 15 seconds like in the old formula one (1998)

I try to increase the amount of fuel every second but seems not to work.
And pit with engines on never find something that can be changed on how pitsstops are completed.

In rf1 they can pit for a few seconds.
Same game engine and its a year older then gtr2 so there must be something.

Multi-core: Bill's Process Manager or Process Lasso

>4GB: 4GB Patch

I was wondering if they really remade the exe or if they just patched it for those things. If it's just those things we can have that, too!
I use both of them but it still uses 1 core only.

4gb patch i am clos3 to 4 gb in use at le mans as far i could see so that worked.

Yes they did rebuild the exe with falcon 4.0 bms

GTR2 will mostly use 1 core, you're right, but from what I can see each AI spawned is a new thread and that means they get distributed over your cores. I experimented with different numbers of AIs while watching my CPU cores in the task manager and you could see them being used more and more as you increased the number of AI.

The results speak for themselves, too, I get like double or triple the framerate when I enable multi-core (4 for me). Literally, like from <60fps to at least 120fps+ and sometimes 180fps+.

I use supersampling now, though, so I'm running like the equivalent of 8k downscaled to 1080p so I only really get 60-80fps but it's worth it to reduce aliasing.

I have 12 core but i only see 1 core high in use and some 2 or 3 % spikes on some other cores.. i cant alt tab with gtr2.

Strangly it saids 6 gb in use but that i dont believe.(msi afterburner overlay)

On topic.. of gtr2

What do you guys drive at the moment when your using gtr2?
..

I am looking for a racing sim.
That allows modding like it did in gtr2
And offline options like it haves in gtr2
But with the looks of acc

Does somebody now a race sim that meets those requirements?

The big difference is that the Falcon people got access to the source code in a manner legal enough to re-distribute the binaries after modifying said code.

That is very rare in the gaming world, except for a couple of GPL2 releases of FPS games.

Most recently I've been driving GT3/GT4 cars around tracks like Imola, Bathurst, VLM Sebring, VLM Mid-Ohio, etc. Just had a really great race at Sebring I think, really enjoyable.

You're looking for rFactor 2. It can look pretty good particularly on the newest official cars and tracks. You do have to have a pretty good system to run it at those detail levels, though.

rF2 is the last current-gen openly moddable proper sim.

Other than that, AC1 is last gen but can look *incredible* with Sol and Custom Shaders Patch and all that. Just donate whatever the amounts is like $5 for the AC Content Manager and you'll get all that. It's worth it. And AC is openly moddable.

I have ac plus sol and shaderpatch and content manager and acc

But ac has no safety car or propper flag rules and rollingstarts in offline modus

But i encounterd a problem i did do quali(no time accel.) About 45 min (le mans)

Set it in quali to max 6 laps.( in track file and in the file that let you choose classes)
Waited untill every driver is back in the pits after 00:00 time left and clicked race.

The whole starting field was mixed up.
I was second in quali but in the race i started 9th.

Do somebody know why this happend and how to fix this?
