GTR2 Not loading.

Hi Guys,

I installed GTR2 from steam for the first time last night. Worked fine minus the Porsche and Ferraris. I then installed the 1.1 patch and the no CD patch and it played fine...once.

Then I tried to play it again and nothing happens.

I uninstalled and then re installed. Tried to install 1.1 patch and now it is popping up with multiple errors whilst installing the patch.

Any ideas?

Hi. Not sure if anyone is following this but an update for you.

I uninstalled. Reinstalled did all the patches and exactly the same. It let me play it once and then not again.

Totally lost for ideas.

Ok, seem to have found a fix. I ran the GTR2 config and selected Vsync and it works. No idea what that does but its working so i'm not complaining.

If you are on Win 10 you need run gtr2.exe and config.exe with admin rights and select win 7 compatible.
Vsync is newer a good idea as you get lag.
Better to limited the fps to 120 or 180. If you get +450 fps you can get missed gear changes.

You did paste a copy of GTR2 Steam to a temp folder before you start hey

1. Copy STEAM\steamapps\common\GTR 2 - FIA GT Racing Game to a temp folder
2. Run DD patch
3. Copy NOCD
4. Set admin and compat. mode as per Bjarne's instruction ( also tick the box change settings for all users )
5. Optional: Run 4GB patch for GTR2 to use 4GB memory

It runs fine for me on Win 10 64bit with no adjustments, no admin rights, I have the game installed in my C: dir and use the No CD patch, even starts from Logitech Profiler using the gtr2.exe.

One thing to check if your game in not running properly is to check both config.ini files, there is one in the GTR2 main game folder and one in the GTR2 folder in Documents. If they have conflicting settings (the save paths will be different in them so ignore those) it may not run or at least have problems within.

These settings must be exactly the same in both config.ini files, here's mine for example and in case your wondering I use the ones in my main game folder:

That is great. I had it start and run fine several times but sooner or later it would just CTD. Which it did not with the the admin rights set.
I changed back to win 7, 64

go to config and v-synk on.work me too.
