For you who know what a Soldano SLO100, Boogie Dual Rect, Friedman BE100, etc., sound like.....
I broke down and got what these all 'try' to achieve... a period correct build of the legendary 1968 Marshall Super Lead 50 watt version.
The Germino Lead55LV 50 watt JMP Marshall, exact spec build.
This is the amp a guy named Edward used
I use a Variac to bring down the plate voltage to 90-98volts, turn it all the way up, and you have the Brown Sound.
I can get sounds of Jimi, Clapton, Page, Blackmore and of course Van Halen.
Depends how loud you push it as well as blending channels to get ZZ Top, Free, Jethro Tull, DiMeola, McLaughlin guitar tones.
And my favorite, Allan Holdsworth lead sound from his days of using Marshalls .
This thing is LOUD, man!
