Take your time to create a design, some thing have been done quick and its visible. Never draw a straight line directly in the 2d template, use pen tool and 3d shape

The problem is, drawing directly in the 2d template, the helmet isnt straight, so you do a perfect design and when you check on the 3d model isnt look as you want. So doing it direct on the 3d model merge it into it, will goes on the 2d template, after this, you will get the shape needed on the 2d template, you redo it on the 2d template to get a better resolution and done !
