Help me like ACC

So I am trying to like this, but often switch off in frustration.

Tonight I gave it a good go, setting up the wheel, playing with graphics settings etc, and driving round Monza.

i7 4790k, 16Gb ram, Geforce 2070 super, so no slouch of a machine

But I get no sense of speed, and therefore find controlling the car, and not going to sleep driving, very difficult.

triple screens, 144hz yes, but switching to like for like car and track in iRacing, Assetto Corsa and rF2 and no issues.

So what am I doing wrong here?

Really not sure mate...
I was online this morning with the RD Misano race, I felt plenty of speed...
I have an r7 3800x and 2070 super, also on triple 144hz monitors, I get around 100fps on my setup, g-sync compatible switched on, with 30+ cars online. Are you saying its a slideshow?
What settings are you running in game?

Sense of speed depends on FOV and camera perspective. Maybe you have to adapt to the way ACC feels? I see this a lot that people overdrive the car, overshoot the corners, because it doesn't feel as fast as they thought it would. Check the speedometer to get a "reality check".
Also choice of car (i.e. seating height) is relevant regarding sense of speed. Switch from an Aston V8 to the McLaren 720GT3 and you see what I mean.

Not a slideshow at all no just no sense of speed, which I will play with FOV and different cars. I drive cockpit so will see.

Tried everything down to medium settings and still not great.

Processor getting on yes but copes with other stuff and the rig itself benchmarks very well

5760x1080 - again works with other stuff.

Will try FOV etc and see if I can improve things.

The missing "Sense of Speed" impression is mostly due to FOV and seat settings .... the more you see the sides through the side windows and the more this "Sense of Speed" will be felt.

Strange to feel that on a Triple as it's mostly the impression that someone with a single screen is getting.

EDIT: for FPS and graphic quality ... I felt a big difference changing I5 4670k + GTX1060 6GB for a I7 9700k + RTX2070 Super Trio.

Not sure which driver view you are using but if you use the larger of the two dash views, you will never suffer lack of speed.
On CPU...absolutely not an issue.
Until I switched to Ryzen, I was using an I7-3820 upclocked by a small 200 MHz...so 3.8 GHz up from 3.6 GHz.
It ran ACC smoothly....even at night and in heavy rain.
I also used it very comfortably in VR.
This video was done with that 3820 on a 60Hz monitor.
Your unlocked I7-4790k is much, much faster and has way more upclock potential than my I7-3820 locked CPU.
Bear in mind, this was at a time when ACC was still in early release and not better optimized.

Nailed it thanks, i had too much side showing, and when i moved nearer the dash that was a lot better, plus turning the eye candy down a bit.

Yes CPU not an issue on that basis, but I know I will upgrade eventually.

Thanks folks seem to have cracked it a lot happier now, just got to get used to being a lot closer to the dash than I am used to.
