Hey Guys, I can't seem to fix my steering animation.

Hey Guys, I drive from the cockpit so my steering animation should match the steering wheel in my hand. I can't seem to get it corrected. This has held up my progress in the game. I have had it now for 3 months and have only spent time trying to resolve this issue. Is there a fix? My Fanatec is set to 360 degrees of rotation.

360 is too low for the GT3 vehicles in ACC. Try setting your Fanatec software to 900 (or the maximum it can handle if higher) and then set the in game rotation to match. The game should then automatically take care of the rest.

Never understood why I need to be registered there just to read stuff...
Cheers

"Put your steering wheel at 900 and the game will take care of the rest. Check that it also shows 900 (or thereabouts) in the controls
If you put a very low value, the steering might become too sensitive and fast and if not experienced, you might go into oversteering and terminal understeer on every turn."

Agreed. I used to run my Fanatec wheel at 900° and the game at 720° This was because ACC’s animations stopped at 720° and I wanted everything onscreen to sync with my actual wheel.

But after switching to 900° ingame, it’s much easier to control slides. If there’s still any unsynchronized animation in later releases, I don’t notice it. You only rarely go to full lock in these cars anyway.

Cheers Paul. Will try and see if it is better than my current 540°.
I have to say, that the Porsche was like a bunny on steroids with 540, but ok on 640°. :geek:

Just tested. Having 900° in the TD of my SimuCube2 and 900° ingame is the only setting, where I have my actual wheel and the animation sync'ed. With 540° / 540° there was always a mismatch.
Not a big deal since I turn off the wheel animation anyways.

Big surprise was, that the actual steering input is absolutely the same! Doesn't matter if I set 540° / 540° or 900° / 900°, I have to put the same steering input to get around corners. Fascinating...how can that be?

The only downside is, that if I set 900° in the TD, the minimum Bumpstop is 700°, where I liked the 540° from before to limit the wheel rotation.

Hmm, but will leave it at 900° / 900° for now and see if It works for me or anything seems off.

Cheers again @EsxPaul !

@DrRob I have mine set to 1200 in TD and in game. The real and virtual wheels have always matched up exactly.

With regards to the bumpstops, I have no answer for that as I've never turned the wheel far enough to hit the end of the travel. If I crash, I always hold onto the rim and I've found the forces aren't high enough to hurt in ACC, unlike rF2 or iRacing. It's interesting that they cannot be set lower than 700° though and I'd be interested to find out why that is.

Thinking about it now, I don't even turn the wheel 180 degrees in either direction. I've never been in a situation where I would hit the bumpstops, even if they were set at 540. Maybe that's why I'm so slow :roflmao:
