Thanks this is the first decent setup i have tried that can beat a engineer's setup. Did a 1:12.974 after 2 laps! Thank you so much, great setup for my style of driving!

Best time so far is 1.13 919 with a McLaren , lot of errors on lap though so can be faster probably someone with a wheel could take a lot more off it.

I can't seem to get that time but it's still a damn good setup I'd say. On a dry track with prime tires, there shouldn't be any reason you lose to the AI in Career mode...which is what I was looking for lol.

Hi All - first time poster here, Ive used Lally's setup and tweaked it for consistent a 1.13's (PB 1.13.6 - leader board)

Aerodynamics
Front Wing Angle: 2
Rear Wing Angle: 1
Braking
Balance: F 51% - R 49%
Pressure: High
Brake Size: Small

Ballast Distribution: F 50% - R 50%

Camber front: -1.50
Camber rear: -3.50

Toe rear:0.50

I found the original setup real loose under braking, but the adjustments above seemed to fix that.
I posted the time in a Mclaren.

Thanks to Lally for his initial post.

I would like to see comparisons or summaries of which setup is 'the best' which is what everyone wants to know. I have tried out the most commented on setups in this thread and listed my results. Yes, different setups suit different people bare that in mind.

5 laps each setup. I already knew the circuit from practicing engineer setups. I am career season 1, Lotus, expert, no assists whatsoever, bathtub view. This is with prime tires near the beginning of practice (reset each time) so soft tyres, rubbered track, and low fuel load = probably a second or two quicker. Here are the results:

1/Qbert72 1.20.168
2/Dazz is here 1.20.203
3/Bram Hengeveld 1.20.549
4/sammyrocker5150 1.20.572
5/blake curtis 1.20.578
6/sir blacky 1.20.751
7/hamliton numberone 1.21.028

And some comments on the feel of the setups:

1/Qbert72 - really really solid and unresponsive, yet fast
2/Dazz is here - stable 'all round' setup
3/Bram Hengeveld - feels just right
4/sammyrocker5150- really easy to drive/forgiving
6/sir blacky - doesn't like turn 6 at all! won't turn in enough
7/hamliton numberone - gear ratios way to high

Hope this is useful information.

EDIT/ Went with Bram Hengeveld's setup in the end because it felt right. With soft tires in Q3 qualified 3rd with 1.19.179. Came 2nd in the race. Thanks all of the above for your setups.

Hi Guys I got a pretty extreme setup but got a 1:12.894 (with Mclaren in time trial) after trying all of the above and adapting for my driving style and trying to catch the leader's ghost. I focused on a few corners and tried to optimise things like gear 6 to be just long enough to take me through turn 1 and turn 8 which gained alot of time. I found moving the ballast to the rear gave enough stability to feed the throttle back in earlier through the medium speed corners..

I use a G25 with no assists and the following setup (f1 2010 on pc)

Aerodynamics
Front Wing Angle: 3
Rear Wing Angle: 1

Let me know what you think, if anyone has an feedback on my ghost (GT nickcoolus, currently 63rd) that'd be cool :)

Does anyone have a <1.12.0 setup to share?
I´m trying to follow those top leaderboard ghosts but I find it impossible to even stay close with my current setup (quick setup second from right with some small adjustments).
My best time so far is 1.13.6, more than 2 seconds behind top ranked!
But I did not adjust the Front aero, find it too dificult with my control. How much time can you gain using the Front aero adjustment (which I would guess would be "Front aero -" between turn 1 and 6)?

EDIT: Warpig76, Next time a play I will try your setup (even if it was not below 1.12) and also try to race your ghost! :)

Ivan Gjorgjievski setup with the last 3 gears a step down. Season 3 of 7. Mclaren, legend, no assists exept traction. Pole 1:17:782. First in race, 1:17:108 fastest lap, followed by the two Red bulls and Hamilton.
Momo racing wheel.

i tried adjusting front aero but i found I could get more time by leaving it on + throughout, possibly due to the distraction of adjusting it.
What I did find though (and I put a fair amount of time in to get the time) was that the setup and your driving style should match perfectly. You should tweak and tweak and keep updating the setup to give you that extra turn in on 1 and get the stability just right for the hairpin. Thats maybe why my setup is quite extreme, because in the high priority corners I just kept gaining from pushing the setup further. This shows (and I know) that the driving style is where the time can be gained. I tried racing several different cars who were faster than me, and the biggest gains they had were in 1, 2 and 6.

So my point is try to tweak your setup to your driving style and try different lines that may be advantageoous for that setup's characteristics :) for a start most of the time i got out of the record on 1st corner was in the braking technique, and then the setup gave me a bit more. no setup will give you 2 seconds right off the bat

let me know how you do.

1.12.104 Far right setup 6th & 7th up one click to right the same setup i use on sakir.I've found messing around to much with settings does more harm than good(in my case anyway).Faster times come with loads of practice.
