How do I make windshields "transparent"?

Odd question right.

What I'm asking has to do with the effects like bloom, and stuff. In the exterior everything is fine, full bloom, and sweetfx settings, etc... but inside the car, the windshield seems to reduce the amount of special FX resulting in a less than appealing look.

do u have to set other color to this effects in alpha channel for differenciate of other glass graphics.
