How do I use DDS files? Painting help.

I'm planning on entering a team for the World Trophy probably next season now, but I was messing around trying to paint a livery for the 2011 mod and when I open a dds file the car files are all transparent. Is there anyway I can turn them back into solid colours or are there any templates I can download to help me? All the race suit files are fine but I've never used DDS files before so I have no idea what I'm doing

That should tell you everything you need to know. You don't edit the DDS files directly, you create the PSDs then use an nvidia plugin to save them out as a DDS. The plugin only works in the 32-bit version of Photoshop btw.

ANOTHER QUESTION! Sorry to be a pain in the ass, but, I manage to open then file, paint my design on it, flatten the image then save as a DDS and put it into the appropriate folder, but the livery only shows up as either black or with various random lines streaked across it. What am I doing wrong? :frown:
