How do you change track width for a short distance?

I'm sure this is terribly obvious... but how do you change the track width for a short segment?

The track width tool changes it for the whole track. Trying to select control points and then the track width tool still changed the whole track. So clue me in as to how it's really done.

You have to click on the + and then the track to create a new 'Width'. You'll need at least 3, (not including the original). The first will be where the track starts to widen (width multiplier = 1), and the last where it returns to its normal width (mult = 1) . The width(s) between them can have a higher multiplier number.

option2: the bordering terrain can be turned in to asphalt as well.
