how to change the hud

i've seen some youtube videos with some pretty cool widgets that are seen in the hud. Just curious if this is something in game that we can change or is it some sort of mod. Thanks guys.

Thanks Yves. A little to complicated for me to figure that out, but it seems very cool. Oh well maybe an easier to set up version will come up. I really dont know what im doing with changing codes and what not.

It is really REALLY easy, don't worry. There's no code changing, just renaming a file or two. Follow the instructions in post 1 and you'll be up and running in no time. If you want I can talk you through it on TS or something, no problem.
