How to learn to progress?

Hey there,

So I'm pretty new to sim racing. I really enjoy both participating and watching it online. I've amassed about 35 hours so far of practice, which isn't much I know. Basically, I'm playing Project CARS 2 at the minute and I'm about 2 - 4 seconds off the slowest car at 50% AI. I'm a bit frustrated by this but I keep telling myself that with more practice I'll be blowing past them.

When you started, what did you play and at what difficulty? What would you recommend for a beginner in my shoes? Do you have any learning resources that someone like me could benefit from?

I'm open to everything at the minute.

Also, I'm using a DFGT. It's not great but it'll have to do for now.

-practice
-check out faster drivers

-join some kind of group or club and ask for advice etc (id be happy to do that if you race with me), not to mention online experience is helpful as well
-dont bother with setups for now

Didnt play PC2 myself, but a lot of folks would probably recommend different sim (i use r3e, ams2 and carmageddon myslef)

Thanks for the advice! Funnily enough I started watching that video earlier. Something tells me I'll need to watch it more than once to make sure it all sticks. I'll have to try r3e. Was going to buy AC also because it's really cheap at the minute on some key resale sites.

I tried spectating some more experienced drivers too last night and it definitely helps. I was able to look at their lines and compare them to mine etc.

Again, thanks :)
