How to override Thrustmaster T300RS start up self-calibration initialization?

Hi,
The way T300RS performs self calibration when powered up is too strong. The way the wheel smashes against chassis at both ends is too strong. I would like to avoid this. Does any one know how to set up the wheel using USB cable and powercords that self calibration could be over ridden?

Doubt you can do this - suspect the 'end's of rotation set the travel distance for the motor, and is part of the initialisation of the hardware, so unlikely this can be prevented.

I heard some people saying on forums that they connected the servo motor base to some kind of switch and self calibration doesn't happen any more. Can't find those posts.
