How to re-install a new copy of AC over an old copy?

I can't get A/C to load any type of session ... practice, quick race,race weekend, etc., ... it keeps going back to the menu screen.

To fix this, I'm figuring I have to go to Steam and re-install a new copy of the game but forget how to do this procedure.

Any help would be appreciated.

You go to your steam collection --> right-click on AC then click uninstall. After that you've succesfully uninstalled it, you go to the Steam market and search for AC and since you've already purchased it, you just click install.

Make sure before you uninstall, that you move your mods etc. To a back-up folder so you don't have to re-download everything.

The Steam re-load went OK ... no problems ... but I still cannot get a/c to load a racing or practice session. When I push the Start button, the program tries to load up but keeps going back to the menu screen no matter what I do.

I run a very clean setup, not a lot of mods or add ons. Nothing that should prevent me from loading a race or practice session.

Tried deleting the ac folder in your documents folder? (Back it up first if you have screenshots and replays you want to save.)
