Skins How to use a custom skin online!?

When I'm playing online I wanna use a custom skin for the car, I change it in the options but it won't show up ingame, i.e. is not being saved. Can experts pls tell me how that works or are skins server related and cannot be changed /chosen!? Thx for some advise.

The default on most servers is if you can join instantly, you're getting the skin the server already has picked for that slot. There's a different server mode that lets you book your spot for the race and then when it starts you'll be able to use the skin you chose.
