How to use FOV calculator results value....???

Hi,

So, i researched about FOV and after using a calculator online i got a result of 20.6 degrees for my 21:9 29" Ultrawide monitor with 80cm/32in distance from eyes.

https://www.fov-calculator.com/result/?f1=21_9&f2=80&f3=29&f4=1&f5=7

1.Now, how do i use this 20.6 degrees in game ACC...?

2. i use dashboard view without wheels/hands. Default current FOV in game "view settings" says 54 degrees. so i'm supposed to change this 20.6 degrees....? What really is 20.6 degrees ?

3. How does the 20.6 degrees from the calculator and the 54 degrees from the in game default co-relate to each other ?

4. also what is our default real world natural fov?

Thanks.

I don't think these are any good... I tried a lot and none of them was even close... Stick to 55 then fine tune.

My guess is the height of your monitor is just not enough.
  • Your 29 inch 21:9 has a height of around 30-31 cm.
  • A regular 27 inch 16:9 monitor is around 35-36 cm.
  • Even a regular 24 inch 16:9 is more with around 31-32 cm.
I might sound a little counter intuitive, but those widescreens aren't always the best solution when using correct FOV. You would think widescreens give a better view left and right. But in reality height is even more important. In theory a 16:10 monitor would be optimal.
  • Move that monitor as close as you can. Try to reduce that 80cm to 40-50cm.
  • ACC has 1) dashboard view and 2) cockpit view. Number 1 is a little closer to the windscreen. Give them both a try I'd say.
  • Use those FOV calculators as a guideline. Adjust the end result so you have a comfortable view. But not too much.
