HP Reverb G2 problems

Performance is fine - my problem is reliability. I get some or most of the following almost every time I play. Short blackouts where the screen comes back within 10-15 seconds - long after I've crashed; blackouts that trigger (or are a symptom of...) a Steam VR fatal error and random changes of 'seat position', so my view of the track is at multiple different angles in rapid succession. It won't do it for ages, then it will do it six times in one corner. Hitting my assigned steering wheel button resets the view correctly, but it will then change again immediately.
