During gameplay your laps are not invalidated if you corner cut. It still counts.

I don't see the same issue in time trial, but it is still early so players may figure something out. What is truly disgusting about that video is how he can cut the track over grass and such and not have any negative effects like crap on his tyres affecting his handling.
