I need help Downloading and file placement of files for mods and tracks.

I have been trying to download a few mods particularly the Legends Mods [the small legends 34 ford ,with the 1200cc motorcycl engine, with no success and some newer tracks and cars.I download the file, save to desktop and follow the path per some post here in the forums,I use the rar file window,I 'm pretty sure I got some files all wacked up,I uninstalled to wipe ASC to start over again and some of the things I downloaded come back after the uninstall. The ironic thing is some of the cars that are in the game so are the tracks I downloaded and a lot of cars and tracks work fine, even two mods I downloaded, appreciate any help, frustrated..got about 5
hours in two days wrapped up in trying to learn...UGH !!

Then I'd definitely suggest getting it as there is an auto install function for a lot of mods, mostly cars and tracks but also a few other mods work with it.

Google 'assetto corsa content manager', use acstuff link

Simply drag the zipped file (.7z, .rar, .zip) to the top the UI for content manager and auto install will take place upon your confirmation.

Probably worth learning folder structures first.
Dragging and dropping zipped files into content manager only works if the zip structure is correct.
Many mods aren't, so learn how folder structures are organised and then you'll never look back.

Can not argue with that. I have the full version of CM but still install every mod manually. Most work fine with CM auto installer but as Robert points out, not all do. Manual install takes no more time than the auto function and you know everything is installed correctly.

That's right it's often just a case of matching folders or perhaps dropping for example a new car name folder in the "cars" folder in the game directory.
Some mods when you unzip them will create a mods folder, obviously the games folder structure cannot deal with this.
I usually unzip the rar/zip folder to its current location, might be the default downloads folder, then I inspect the structure to see what's there and cut or copy to game directory as required.

Further to this I use WinZip which allows me to take a look at the folder structure before actually unzipping and if simple enough, I'll back out of WinZip then just drag and drop into content manager.
