Installation problems...HELP!!

New to the game, I am trying to install and it hardly starts installing the car files before I get this message:

'C:|Program Files\SimBin\GTR Evolution Offline\CustomSkins\Templates\Chevrolet Lacetti.rar

An error occured while trying to read the source fileata error (cyclic redundancy check)

Click Retry, Ignore or Abort'

Does anyone know what might be causing this? Its so frustrating!

cyclic redundancy check means that the laser was unable to read that block on the DVD, so it tries again and again and again until it gives up and gives you the error. The disk may be scratched or dirty, you could try cleaning it and if that doesn't work, a new DVD may be in order.

What he said above ^, you got a corrupt file, you are using DVD version right?

yep. I did already have gtr2 installed. Do you think its worth taking it back to the shop?

surely worth a try. if it fails again, you can just buy it off Steam.

If it won't install, you can download it on steam using your CD Key. Go on steam and click Activate Product on Steam then just follow the instructions. This should then add itself to steam and start downloading without the need for the disk.
