Is rFactor 1 still worth getting?

Hi, im new to realism sim racing games. I just brought all the hardware i need(steer etc.). I was looking for a game to start with then i spotted rFactor. All i worried about were is it still worth to pay 30 dollars for an old game and is this game still alive(online racing, modding etc.)? Plz help, thx

rFactor is great sim. If you haven't tried it yet, you can download it from http://www.rfactor.net/ and get the free 60 minute trial. There are tons of mods available for it.

Sadly RaceDepartment doesn't have much in the way of online racing, apart from the up and coming RD Le Mans series but there are other league around that still use rFactor.

Alternatively, you could get rFactor 2 (you need to pay) but if you don't like it, you can get a refund. Details of that can be found http://rfactor.net/web/rf2/rfactor2-purchase/

rFactor 2 is still in Beta stage but RD does run events for it. Check the rFactor 2 forums for the club and league events.

Rfactor is still a good game in my opinion, in RD there aren't many races with it but i'm sure you can find some other website that organizes races with it. If you want and can you can also try rfactor2, i haven't tried it yet, but i ear it is very good
