Is softlock supposed to work this way? Can it be improved?

I have enabled softlock and I notice my steering wheel pulling repeatedly when the lock is reached. I suppose this is not how it works in real cars. Is this a limitation of the hardware, of the software, a bug...? I'm using Simucube 1. Does it also work that way with your setup?

The softlock option in CM - if your wheel is supported - works really quite nicely by automatically setting the steering range in both CM and your driver to the DoR of the chosen car. No harsh bouncebacks on my end with the SimuCube 2 Pro.

Then I think I will leave it off. It's better to override the turning degrees than feeling that awkward vibration. BTW, do you know a way to make the steering wheel automatically recenter, maybe with the Simucube software? Sometimes, when you loose control and it turns too many degrees, you don't really know in which direction you have to turn it until you feel the force feedback again, so it's a hassle and a waste of time.

its software issue - AC issue.
in ACC yo dont even have option to enable soft lock, but tis doesnt matter as all gt3 cars have same wheel rotation arouns 450 degrees
but in ams2 tey make it so good, like when yo standing an turnin wheel yo can feel max reach, then wheels makes it back, if yo drivin yo also feel yo reach max lock and cant put it further, no snappin wheel as it is AC, but even wit that im usin soft lock in AC as it makes driftin better cause yo let off wheel while driftin an yo wheel snaps back when reach full lock so i know better pushin further makes no sense
i remember in pCARS2 tey have similar soft lock to ams2 but tis force was softer so yo could easier turn wheel outise its max rotation, but it then go back to its max lock, an it was still better as in AC
in AC it repeatedly snaps back an its little scary, in AMS 2 yo feel wheel so heavy dont want to turn, in pCARS2 yo feel wheel heavy but not as much in AMS2, but in both games it get back to its max rotation so yo know where each car have its max rotation.

yes but then yo must make setting for each car, an who does that?
AC is too old game to devs improve it, btw at its current state its bearable, doesnt affect drivin that much, only at lower speeds its just scary

CM softlock makes proper bumpstop based individual car model DOR, automatically.
But not all wheels are supported.

And stop texting when driving. :D
