Issue with Menu Icon Rendering

So I noticed that depending on what kind of graphics are in your icon, the lettering will not show up correctly. It seems to be happening on the second and fifth boxes to the left (for example) on the second row. As the picture here will show, if that icon is anywhere else, it will show just fine (see the 1988 to its left).

I was wondering if anyone knew the cause for that odd rendering issue? It drove me crazy redoing one of the icons until I decided to test it by shuffling series around.
