Istanbul Park return "Agreed in Principal"

It appears Mr Chase has been over to Turkey chatting with the government there to bring back Turkey to the F1 calendar.

Also present were track operator Vural Ak, the chief of country’s motorsport governing body Serkan Yazici, as well as minister of youth and sports Akif Cagatay Kilic and deputy secretary general and spokesperson of the presidency ambassador Ibrahim Kalin.

Following this meeting, Ak spoke on Tuesday evening at the Automotive Journalists Association dinner, and confirmed a deal – although not signed – was “agreed in principle”.

Losing Malaysia & Gaining Istanbul - Absolutely delighted by that to be honest if get the deal over the line.

In recent years I would have welcomed the return of Istanbul park with open arms but since this year the FIA can't race in yet another country with a dictator.
