Sector3 Studios preview the new GT4 spec KTM X-BOW due to be added to PC Simulator RaceRoom Racing Experience.
With GT4 spec racing growing ever more popular in the racing world, Sector3 Studios have signed a licencing agreement with Austrian manufacturer KTM to bring the highly successful KTM X-BOW GT4 to their RaceRoom Racing Experience simulation.
Unlike it's older brother the X-BOW GT4 is a closed top GT racing car that runs under the growing GT4 regulations. Slightly slower and containing less technology that the premium GT3 racing series, GT4 offers a more cost effective entry into the world of the professional GT racing leagues. With KTM keen to capitalise on the growing market for this kind of specification, the manufacturer created a new closed top variant of it's quirky X-BOW and entered the car into the 2015 European GT4 Series, winning the competitive AM class on it's first season of competition.
Technical Specs:
HORSEPOWER RPM: 360
DISPLACEMENT: 2.0L
CHASSIS: CARBON MONOCOQUE & BODY
TRANSMISSION: SEQUENTIAL 6-SPEED PADDLESHIFT
BRAKES: ABS
WEIGHT: 999 KG
ENGINE: 2.0L AUDI TFSI
RaceDepartment readers with a keen eye might have noticed the first images from this new car attached to our recent interview with Sector3, and as can be seen in the previews provided throughout this article it does appear that development is already at an advance state. The car, a first for the GT4 specification in RaceRoom, is expected to be released for the simulation around Spring 2017, although no exact release date has been offered by Sector3 at the time of writing.
It is not yet known if RaceRoom fans can expect to see more GT4 cars added to the simulation, however with the championship gaining in popularity in recent seasons and many of the currently licenced manufactures fielding a GT4 spec machine in their line-up of racing vehicles, it is not unreasonable to assume we may see more from this series coming up over the next few weeks and months.
RaceRoom Racing Experience is available for PC via the Steam Network. You can download the game with limited content for free - additional car and track packs can be purchased in the game store. The KTM X-BOW GT4 is scheduled for release Spring 2017.
