Logitech Driving Force Shifter Question

Does anyone know if this will work as a stand-alone shifter on PC? I have Thrustmaster stuff but for some reason my shifter won't connect to the PC and Tech Support at TM...well you know how they are... if it just connects through the computer with a USB it should be able to work independently of the Wheel..

If only I could find the actual USB adapter. I was hoping a PS/2 to USB would work but I guess that’s where my trouble is. The Logitech/Leo Bodnar solution sounds good right now

So why not just get the cable from Thrustmaster if that's the only thing you're missing? Surely it can't be that difficult to get to justify buying an entirely new (and worse) shifter and an adapter for it?

You could also make the cable yourself if there really is no other option:
