Hello guys! Apologies if the title seems a little misleading, but no it's not clickbait.
I recently decided to give my old G27 an overhaul. But I don't have enough knowledge regarding what I need to know. So basically, I am here to ask for help.
I plan to replace the old helical gear system with a simple belt driven pulley system. I want to use a single motor instead of two. Obviously, I need a new one that will be equal or more powerful than the two stock motors. I also have plans made to move the encoder (small black wheel) from the motor directly to the main shaft where the steering wheel is attached to. I think I can handle those things pretty neatly.
Places where I need help is the electronics side. And much questions incoming!
So, can I use both wirings of the original motors and directly attach it to the new motor? I plan to use an 895 12V DC motor. What I mean is, if I use both old wires and connect it to the new one, does the voltages add up? like for example 12V + 12V = 24V? or both (old) motors share the same 12V rail?
Also, if I plan to use a bigger motor and plan to use a separate H-bridge, what type of H-bridge do I need? and does anyone know the wiring schematics of the board, like where to solder and hack the signals I need for the new H-bridge and disregard the built-in system.
So far that's all I need to know. If only I could find old documents from the ARC G27-E mod, I think that can help a lot. Crossing my fingers guys! I'm really hoping that some good guys can help me. Thanks in advance and cheers!
