@Sunny Sky Speed, can you provide me with the light at the end of the tunnel?
I would be interested if it weren't for the fact I do not own iRacing. And for that other factor "time is money". I rarely do free personal or team skins, with latest exception for Paul Jeffrey as I offered it to him as per promotional benefit for myself and to help him out. You see recent history learned me that accepting free requests is a never ending storyI . Although I have complete understanding for people not willing/able to pay for any kind of mod, I ask for mutual understanding that I just can't spend all of my free time skin modding for free, while the wife and kids and a full time job need my attention too. If I choose to spend my time on making personal skins for others and not on my family, I need to have sth in return. This topic has been discussed over and over on social media, with pro's and cons. But I assure you, a decent quality livery takes its time and doing a "quick" skin just doesn't serve the author right and could backfire in his future as livery designer (as I actually prefer to call it).
It's the same story with all other mods. There are tons of good mods for free, but some carry a price tag (URD offered us the C6R and sold the C7R to Kunos) like I made tons of skins and skin packs worth +1000hrs available for free, but if you'd like something personalized or custom build, you will have to offer sth in return unless you are lucky enough to find that one guy who will do it for free.
Also, as Zelimper, a very skilled livery designer, got lucky enough to be contracted by Kunos and thus rewarded for his skinning skills and beautiful creations, I can't see why other skilled designers should offer their services at a free rate, as they too offer great content for that same game, as they already proved themselves worthy of skilled designers, as they already spent hundreds or even thousands of hours acquiring those skills, as they too invest and donate into other mods, supporting their favourite designers, developpers besides supporting the game developpers in both purchasing DLC's and offering extra quality content. I rest my case.
That is the story of this virtual modders world today, no exceptions made.
So I am not saying I don't want to help you, it's just that I know from experience I must refuse this to avoid escalation(without wanting to brag). One could call this unfare, but some people do however pay, good money sometimes, for custom liveries. I even closed my fb account because of this matter. If people valuate my work enough to give sth in return I am happy to listen, without even then being sure to deliver and therefore accept if time forbids. I usually work with people who do not request skins in short deadlines, as I dislike time pressure. Real life is too much of a variable factor in that.
Having said that,
@Paul Jeffrey is a lucky exception. Sorry to decline Lorenzo, unless you can offer me an iRacing account?
