Losing traction on uphill corners?

I'm looking for generic advice on how to setup for relatively steep and sharp uphill corners. For example: penultimate corner of Brands Hatch Indy (McLaren Bend) or the ones found in the last sector of Fuji GP.

Using RSS 3 V6 default setup, I lose traction in the rear & spin mid-corner. What can I do to make the car more stable under this type of circumstance? Is this a technique issue (get good) rather than setup?

This seems to be much less of an issue in heavier cars, however I don't have much of an issue using some very light cars like the Formula Abarth, Dallara F317 or Caterham R300.

It's a good question. Setup wise you could add understeer but this could give a slower lap time overall. Probably your adjusting the rear of the car there to make is softer and in favour of traction. Impossible really to tell without driving your current setuo.

Get good wise you could try using a higher gear. You might need to tweak ratio's. Listen to Le clerc's engine note here as he exit's La caixa uphill at Barcelona. Slow corner's in the second half of the lap his aero isn't working in a major way to keep the tyres stuck. Short shift is another option if there is no low end power from a car's engine.

Good question.. It can have multiple reasons or simply be a matter of opening the steering a little bit in the moment the read would step out to keep it from happening.

My idea would be that due to the compression at Brand's Hatch, the rear might get too low and the aero stalls.

But it could be a lot of other things...

To check the aero stall:
- enable developer apps
- go on track, enable the "wings" app
- look at the "Diffusor" value while driving through the last turn

Since it's almost impossible to see a short drop at that value, I would recommend to record it with OBS or geforce experience if you have a Nvidia gpu.
Or simply film it with a camera.

Sadly the values don't show in replays..

correcting middle corner behavior is done usually by altering differential settings.
