Loss of tracking / cameras + DP and USB problesm on a Rift S

After not using my Rift S for a couple of months I plugged it back in and walked into a world of hurt

Started with randomly failing USB3 and Display port errors which went away after changing ports in several combinations.
Started AC and had no head tracking but other VR titles failed to start properly with the 3 dot image in headset

I then deleted all Oculus install info and reinstalled but during set up it fails at the tracking section.

Any ideas welcome except buying another headset because skint
