lost sounds

Hi there, noob here. i have been installing track mods and car mods and all kinds of wonderful things, and for some reason, i seem to have lost my sounds. when i crash or run off the road, those sounds are still present, but no engine, tire, squeal etc? i am a bit lost in all this, i don't remember playing with any audio stuff? mod cars and originals both this is affecting. i tried downloading a car sound mod and installing it, still no joy? hoping its a simple fix? anyone have any ideas? using sol 2.2.1, csp 1.7.6, but have tried going back to 1.6.0. still no good? thanks in advance for any suggestions
