AC Mazda MX5 Cup @ Brands Hatch GP - Mon 07 Sep 2020

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Well this must be in my top five of fun races! The MX5 is a car that can be handled by not so talented drivers like me. I even managed to keep @Chris Down in my sight for a few laps until I made some small mistakes!!! That will never happen with the GT3 cars. I had in both races some very nice battles with @Denis Betty and @640er . I didn't see the replay yet but I think they were all fair.

Thank you all for racing and @Denis Betty for organizing these great combo's.

You asked me to remind you of the Luccaring https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/luccaring-circuito-dei-baluardi.6544/ which is imo very suitable for the MX5, the 595, the Ford Transit and especially for the Alfa Romeo GTA.
Enzo told me that they had some great races there in the past at Racedepartment.

Really sorry @pattikins for the tap in race 2, I don't think I had anywhere near enough overlap. :(

It wasn't a problem Chris, these things happen. I'm just sorry that you left the second race. I do think sometimes that the difference between using a H-shifter/right foot braking and a paddle shifter/left foot braking can mean that each system can gain and lose ground at different times. If you cast your mind back to Spa (a few Spa's ago...I'm old, it's very vague  , but I'm sure it was @ Spa), you could see me on your radar, then I was off it, only to reappear when it was too late to change direction. Just a theory.

My turn to eat humble pie. @Axel Moebius please accept my apologies for drifting in to your path in the first race. I've just had a look @ the replay and even though your front wheels were level with my rear wheels, I couldn't see you in my mirrors & my crude radar had you behind me. Again, I'm sorry if I ruined your race.

I use Crew Chief on the rare ocassions that I race with Raceroom & rFactor2, does anyone have any experience of using it with AC & does it have any negative impact on the cpu/fps?

Have always used Crew Chief Patrick, and when Rasmus was testing which apps eat the most resources (on my pc), it didn't figure at all. :)

Nah. No problem Patrick. @pattikins I have been racing you many times and I knew it was'nt intentionally. When we race this close, which is the fun part of racing, we can't allways avoid scrubbing paint.

Unfortunately, I have decided to stop hosting AC events at RD. However, you might be able to convince @Medilloni to organise an MX5 event. I would be one of the first to sign up for that. :)
I'm really sorry to hear that. I loved your combo's and enjoyed every one of them. Thank you for all those great events. And I hope to see you again sometime in other AC/RD races.

Sorry to hear that Denis, without your patience and help I'd have never got into this. I'll be stopping when SRGP takes over (early December?), unless I can figure it out (highly unlikely )... can't set a race up in it. Much more importantly, I can't see the banter we have carrying on, which is what I get out of all of this - fun and trust with mates.

So, let me know your choice of track and I'll put it on and we'll have some f***-it fun.

It'll have to be the week after next 'cos we're doing Escorts 'n Alfa GTAM's @ Calabogie (full circuit) this Weds, need time to set it up! Will look at it in more detail when work permits, if there's a noticeable difference I'll add BoP if necessary @ the weekend, hope you can join us for this one too:thumbsup:
