The McLaren 650s GT3 looks set to be released as the first paid DLC for rFactor 2 next week...

Born from a collaboration with a number of GT squads and McLaren themselves, the 650s that features in the ongoing 'Worlds Fastest Gamer' eSport competition looks set to be released to the public as early as next week, coming hot on the heals of the first ingame images revealed just yesterday.

With the real life Spa 24 Hour taking place this weekend as part of the Blancpain Endurance Championship, rFactor and Studio 397 have revealed some more new images of the next car coming to rFactor 2, plus confirmation that the vehicle will be launched next week and presumably (on account of the images) comes with some level of collaboration with the Strakka Racing Blancpain GT team.

Scheduled to potentially retail for around 4.99 eu, the car should mark the first of a series of officially licenced GT3 machines coming to rFactor 2 over the coming months, marking a pleasant shift towards bringing comparable groupings of cars to the simulation for the first time, rather than the usual practice of seemingly disjointed single car releases since in previous years.

Stay tuned for more information as and when it becomes available...

rFactor 2 is a PC exclusive racing simulation by Studio 397. Available to purchase from the Steam network, the game regularly receives updates and enhancements as the Dutch studio look to breathe new life into one of sim racings best titles.

Looking forward to all new paid DLC to help fund further development and continued new content...for me personally I am really enjoying rF2 DX11....still very much a work in progress but I have complete faith in S397 to make rF2 great....keep up the good work.

It's a bit funny how the developers said they would like to focus on doing a series with cars to compete with each other rather than one off cars with no competition. I suppose they forgot to mention that anyone looking for a 'series' within rf2 would have to fork out extra money. And that the pack is coming eventually, but first you get the standard rf2 experience of a single make car and no competitors from its year/class.

If it's truly amazing then I might buy even at this price. Though given their track record so far, I'm skeptical. Radical is a buggy mess to say the least and I would expect that getting a data for a single make spec car would have been much easier than a current GT3. First reviews, then maybe a purchase.

It was said in Discord they need to release the McLaren first because of the WFG event, didn't look like the plan was to release one car first from that chat

That's iRacing levels of money O___O

No, not close. iRenting is more than double that. But I'm also a little skeptical where this is going to go. Will this be the highest priced car to start, or the lowest? Will they all be this price, or will it vary depending on the car? Right now I think that's a little high for one car. So we'll see how this goes. :cautious:

4.99 .... 1 car.... nexr rF2 fanboy that has the urge to comment on AC DLC stuff will have to think twice :p

Assetto does not evolve cycle day / night dynamic weather etc... nothing, a small technical demo that sells content questionable 70% serie cars ...

15$ cars ans 15$ track....no comment:roflmao:

They have to, it only has Ten people playing it at any given time.:x3:
Yeah yeah we all know more people populate simpler racing titles. So what. They miss out on a racing experience with awesome physics and FFB.

Maybe if you and others played rF2 it would have more people? If you get turned off by it when testing it then you got something wrong. Most people that test it and get hooked usually have the same expression of pure amazement, but you have to value physics, FFB and the excitement of driving that takes effort over "flash".

Thanks for making this post go on forever now. Once you start to debate and defend iRenting, you open the floodgates with everyone that can't stand their business model.
Have fun!! :roflmao:
