'Mentioned' alert not working?

Is it possible the 'someone mentions you' alert doesn't work anymore? I tagged a few people in a post I made by using the @ sign, but from later responses by them I understood they never saw my post.

If you tag someone on editing - i.e. not on initial post - it doesn't give a notification.

It turns out that tagging people (in XenForo speak, a "mention") is a Premium-only feature. It's a little unfortunate that the way the forum works, it's impossible to tell the difference between a successful mention and an unsuccessful one...

Maybe relatively basic communication functions aren't the right choice for use as premium perks?

Tweaks have been made: non-Premium users can now tag up to 3 members in a post
(That rises to 15 for Premium users.)
