just finished my Mercedes AMG GT3 style custom wheel. I use these parts :

• Aluminum laser cut wheel plate
• Suede leather grips
• 10 NKK high quality push buttons
• 2 Rotary encoders
• Magnet Shifter Paddles
• Coiled USB Cable for connection

Hello WardogZ,
the cost depends on the materials you use. Its construction is something purely subjective, depending on the knowledge that will make it.

I'm new to this - what electronic thing do you use to turn all the buttons and dials into USB and then what driver is used to in Windows to be a game controller?

You can use very easy Leo's Bodnar controllers...Works with windows perfect...

Looks fantastic. I'm currently in the process of building a f1 wheel using the 3drap kit but fancy doing a GTE/GT3 type wheel next. Did you design the laser cut plate yourself and where did you get it cut, or if bought where from?

i have design AMG wheel from the original wheel shape.You can cut it to any lab that cuts aluminum , iron , steel e.t.c.

This is another wheel that i work on these days... you can see buttons , surface and connector too.Grips are not the new ones,are those for testing.

Great looking wheel, typical mercedes style. As in make the logo as big as possible.
Question: How did you cover the grips so well with suede leather?
How thick is that material.

i believe logo is in perfect size , not to small , not too big.
suede cover is a couple hours of work...suede not forgive errors!!
aluminum wheel plate is 3mm strong aluminum with no flex at all.

The logo is perfectly done, was just kidding about the logo size.

Did you make the suede leather wet to get it more stretching?
And how many millimeters thick was your suede?

i use good quality leather suede 1mm thick.It is very soft and you can work it without wet it first...
