DTM are touring cars, not sure how fast they are compared to GT though

I'd say DTM is closer to Stock Car Brasil and the likes. Sure, they call it touring cars, but seriously, IMO they aren't.

I know what you mean, they're a bit too advanced for touring cars, they have more in common with F1 than the BTCC.

Yeah, "wrong way around", one could say: Not a street car made into a race car as a touring car would be, but a purpose-built race car made to look similar to some street car models.
