Modders: So, is it open for modding?

Is ACC locked down or open for modding?

That was one of the big questions in my mind about the longevity and success that ACC could have.

There are already some guys trying to find the relevant key for decrypting the pak files used in ACC, however this will take time. I guess only once this is done, modding might be possible. Otherwise, forget it.

Once again, even if you open up the pak file, as a few have already done, the files within are not useful.

Well, if they can decrypt the pak files then they, at least, have unfettered access to files that can be worked on in UE4. That's something. Not as convenient as the old, separate files way of doing things but manageable.

My question would be would decrypting the files be legal? Would sites like RD support mods done this way?

Considering the files aren't human-readable (and are not able to be converted to source material), it's certainly not manageable....
